All the glass is free blown, no moulds are used to shape the glass only wet newspaper, wooden blocks and the traditional glassmakers tools. Malcolm enjoys making bowls, vases, dishes and plates that have clean, smooth, simple shapes.
The watery theme of the coast and sea feature strongly in Malcolms work, with blue still being a very dominant colour. Since moving to Cornwall Malcolm has slowly moved away from the figurative designs, which were prominant, to producing more pieces just using colours, softly blended together, often combined with sandblasting which enhances the colours and removes the reflections.
